REMAX Autohandels GmbH welcomes your visit to our website and your interest in our products. Protecting your personal data is an important concern for us, and we want you to feel secure with us. As a company, we have decided not to store data in the United States. Below you will find an overview of which information is collected, processed, and used.


1.1 Safeguards

All employees of our company are trained and bound to data confidentiality in accordance with § 5 of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). Our web server is located in a data center certified under ISO 27001. Technical security measures are continuously adapted to current circumstances and requirements.


1.2 Data Security

Access to your data stored in our database is only possible via encrypted connections and exclusively by authorized personnel. Third parties have no access to or ability to use this data. We do not store passwords in plain text, but only in encrypted form with additional “salting.” We use state-of-the-art firewall systems to ensure the highest possible protection of your data. Your entire visit to our website, as well as the use of the customer menu, takes place exclusively via an SSL-encrypted connection (https://).


2. Scope and Use of Personal Data
2.1 Master Data

Personal data refers to information that can be used to establish your identity (e.g., your real name, address, postal address, telephone number). Information not directly associated with your identity (e.g., preferred websites or number of site users) is not considered personal data. You can generally use our online services without disclosing your identity. When using our contact form, we ask for your name and other personal information. You are free to decide whether to provide this data. For your first order/offer, we collect personal data that is necessary for contract fulfillment. We apply strict data minimization principles. Additional data (e.g., date of birth) is only stored with your explicit consent. Collected data includes:

  • VAT ID number (only for companies from EU countries)

This data is stored centrally and used for contract processing. You may request an extract of your stored data at any time.


2.2 Data Transfer

For vehicle delivery, we may share your address with the assigned logistics provider. For registration services, you authorize us with your signature to transfer the necessary data and documents to the registration service provider. Documents are archived as required by law and destroyed by a certified disposal service after the retention period. If we transfer data to service providers within order data processing, they are contractually bound by German data protection law and this Privacy Policy.


2.3 Disclosure to Third Parties

Data may be disclosed to third parties only by order of a competent court, law enforcement authorities, or as legally required (e.g., evidence in case of breach of contract). Your data will never be sold, transferred for advertising purposes, or used beyond the minimum required for fulfillment.


2.4 Newsletter Subscription

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will use your email address and any optional information to send you the newsletter, based on your explicit consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You may unsubscribe at any time via the link provided in each newsletter.

2.4.1 Use of MailChimp

2.4.2 Retention Period

Your data will be stored until you revoke your consent or unsubscribe from the newsletter.


3. Usage Data and Traffic Data

No connection data is stored in log files on our web servers, as logging has been disabled.


4. Use of Cookies
4.1 Session Cookies

When visiting our website, a session cookie is created that is valid only for the duration of your visit. Unlike tracking cookies, this cookie cannot be used across domains and does not analyze your behavior. It solely enables restricted access (e.g., to dealer vehicle inventory).


4.2 Piwik (Matomo)

This website uses Piwik (Matomo) for analytics and optimization. Data such as your ISP and pages visited are collected in anonymized form. Piwik uses cookies stored on your device. The information is saved on our servers. IP addresses are anonymized and not combined with other data. You may opt out of tracking via the provided opt-out link. The opt-out cookie applies only to this browser and device. If you delete cookies, the opt-out must be reactivated.


4.3 Social Plugins

We do not use social plugins (e.g., Facebook Like buttons). No data (e.g., your IP or profile) is transmitted to third-party providers.


5. Data Deletion

Master data will be deleted no later than the calendar year following contract termination, unless legal or operational reasons require further retention. Usage and traffic data are deleted once the session ends, unless required for legal claims.


6. Right to Information

¹ The information is provided in accordance with the German Passenger Car Energy Consumption Labelling Ordinance (Pkw-EnVKV). The stated values were determined in accordance with the prescribed WLTP (Worldwide Harmonised Light-Duty Vehicles Test Procedure). Fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions of a passenger car depend not only on the efficient use of fuel by the vehicle but also on driving style and other non-technical factors. CO₂ is the greenhouse gas primarily responsible for global warming. A guide on fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions of all new passenger car models offered in Germany is available free of charge at every sales location in Germany where new passenger cars are displayed or offered. CO₂ emissions resulting from the production and provision of the vehicle as well as of the fuel or energy carriers are not taken into account in the determination of CO₂ emissions pursuant to WLTP.
² For electric vehicles and hydrogen-powered fuel cell vehicles, an exemption from motor vehicle tax is granted for ten years from the date of first registration, if the first registration occurs between 18 May 2011 and 31 December 2025, but no longer than until 31 December 2030.
